The Secretary of state said this when speaking to reporters in Jamaica
Us Secretary of state Mike Pompeo said on Wednesday that he is ready to testify in the impeachment trial of President trump, if he is legally obliged to do so.
“If I am required by law to testify, as I said earlier, I will be happy to do so,” Pompeo said, speaking to reporters in Jamaica.
According to Pompeo, this week he did not follow the events related to the impeachment case, making a trip to countries in the Western hemisphere.
The Republican-controlled Senate voted Wednesday morning on the rules for impeachment proceedings. The Republican majority approved the rules, rejecting democratic amendments aimed at the Senate requesting a number of documents and hearing new witnesses.
